Christe Boen became interested in chiropractic when she was just 14 years old. When a badly-sprained ankle looked like it would sideline her from her fast-pitch softball season and upcoming Nationals, her mother took her to their family chiropractor. Dr. Ralph Filson adjusted her ankle and showed her how to properly rehab it. Although she had been told by the ER doctor she initially saw that it would take at least 4-6 weeks for her ankle to heal, the chiropractic care she received enabled Christe to pitch on it that same week. Impressed with the care she was given and the results she experienced, Christe knew she had found a path that could enable her to help others in the same way that she had been helped.

 

Christe went on to continue her softball career at the University of Missouri-Columbia on a full-ride scholarship as a pitcher from 1992-95. She helped pitch her team to the Women’s College World Series her junior year, finishing 7th in the country for Division 1 schools.

 

While at Mizzou, Christe studied Pre-Med, pursuing the classes required to begin chiropractic school upon graduation. She eventually graduated from Logan College in April of 1999 and has been practicing sports and family chiropractic and acupuncture in West County ever since.

 

In 2006, Dr. Boen married her husband, Jason Mirikitani. The couple and their four children – Abigail, Josiah, Toby, and Benji – make their home in the same West County area where Dr. Boen was raised. In many ways, Dr. Boen sees her patients as family, caring for them in a relaxed, home-like office environment that instantly puts them at ease and makes them feel welcome.
